University top of its game in Guardian table
THE University of Buckingham has come 16th out of 120 institutions in The Guardian’s 2013 league table.
This is the first time the University of Buckingham has been placed in The Guardian’s main league table and it has happened because we are now big enough in English, economics, psychology, business and law.
Our English department was ranked 14th out of over 102 institutions, beating King’s College London, Leeds and Brunel.
The Department of Economics was placed in 17th position beating Queen Mary, Leeds and Exeter University.
Psychology came a respectable 20th out of 109 institutions and The Business School took up 28th position, ahead of Oxford Brookes and Newcastle.
Our law school came 30th out of 97 institutions beating Oxford Brookes, Leeds and Manchester.
Deputy vice-chancellor, Professor Alistair Alcock said: “We’re delighted to have entered the main Guardian University Guide league table. Our 16th position reflects Buckingham’s commitment to providing high quality teaching with small class sizes and close personal attention.”
