UPDATE: Man dies after Fosters Booth crash
An 80-year-old man has died following an accident in which a van demolished the entrance to a pub in Fosters Booth near Towcester last Friday.
At around lunch time on Friday, March 8, Kenneth Kirkpatrick of Oak Road, Weedon, was driving north along the A5 Watling Street in a silver Mercedes when it was in collision with a van travelling in the opposite direction.
Mr Kirkpatrick was taken to the Walsgrave Hospital in Coventry and died in the critical care unit at 5.45pm on Saturday.
The white Volkswagen LT35 demolished the entrance porch at the Red Lion Pub.
The male driver of the van, from Stacey Bushes in Milton Keynes, was uninjured.
The collision caused significant disruption on the roads in the vicinity of the A5 at Fosters Booth on Friday afternoon.
