Villagers open their gardens for charities
THREE village gardens will be open for charity in East Claydon and Verney Junction as part of the National Gardens Scheme Open Gardens on Sunday, May 27, from 2pm to 6pm.
Inglenooks is an informal cottage garden with different areas of interest and many roses, surrounding a 17th-century timber-framed thatched cottage (not open).
The Old Vicarage is a large garden on clay, with mixed borders, a scented garden, a dell, shrub roses, vegetables, a natural clay pond and a small meadow area and planting to encourage wildlife.
And 3 Jubilee Cottages, at Verney Junction, is an established but evolving mid-terrace garden. A patio with a bubble water feature leads to garden rooms linked by a boardwalk, with plenty of seating areas. A wildlife pond is a haven for frogs, toads and emerging dragonflies in season.
Combined entry £4, children free.
