Villages to make history

The villages north of Towcester are to become the latest communities chronicled in a local history project first started in 1899.

The Victoria County History (VCH) project, which aims to produce a detailed history of every town and village in England, will now focus on Abthorpe, Cold Higham, Gayton, Pattishall and Tiffield.

The Lord Lieutenant, Lady Juliet Townsend LVO launched the £60,000 project last Friday and said it would make a ‘significant contribution to the identity and heritage’ of Northamptonshire.
