Man in court on shoplifting charges

A 33-year-old man with shoplifting and burglary following a series of offences around Bicester.

Paul Wyeth, from Shackleton Close, Bicester, was charged with five counts of shoplifting and one count of burglary on Friday.

The offences took place in Bicester between October and December.

On October 25, groceries were stolen from Tesco in Holm Square at about 7.40pm.

On November 16, abottle of wine was stolen from Tesco in Hart Place at about 5.45pm.

On November 29, groceries were stolen from the Co-op in Bassett Avenue at about 8.30pm.

On December 1, groceries were stolen from the Co-op in Bassett Avenue at about 8.40pm.

On December 4, bottles of perfume were stolen from Wilkinsons in Market Square at about midnight.

And on December 5, a charity box was stolen from Wilkinsons in Market Square in a burglary at about 4.20am.

Wyeth, who was arrested on Friday, was given conditional bail today, Monday, to return to Banbury Magistrates’ Court on March 2 for trial.
