LUCKILY Trotters Independent Traders did not supply the parachutes for a successful world record breaking attempt at Hinton Airfield in aid of the Alzheimer’s Society last week.

On Thursday, July 5, retirement income specialists MGM Advantage entered the record books after organising the most tandem jumps in 24 hours. The record had been set at 130 but the firm took that up to 160, on the sameday it celebrated its 160th birthday.

Jumpers were waived off by actress Sue Holderness, better know as Marlene Boyce in classic sitcom Only Fools and Horses, who was there as a supporter for the charity.

She said: ‘What a fantastic day and what a brave bunch of people who were willing to do something quite crazy in order to help people fight dementia and raise vital funds for Alzheimer’s Society.”

MGM hope to raise £60,000 for the Alzheimer’s Society, to support them visit www.virginmoneygiving.com/team/mgmadvantage.
