FOUR lads from the Buckingham area will brave blisters and the elements as they walk nearly 20 miles in support of a friend diagnosed with a brain tumour.

Dave Williams and younger brother Sam Williams, from Dadford, will join friends Christopher Slater from Finmere, and Jason Marshall from Winslow, in a sponsored trek from Dadford through the villages to Deanshanger and back to Buckingham on Saturday, April 14.

The trek will raise money for Brain Tumour UK after Dave’s old school friend, Richard Winnett, was diagnosed with a tumour before Christmas.

Mr Williams said the news had hit family and friends hard, adding: “Richard is doing really well and is being very strong.”

Event sponsor Williams Windows will make donations from jobs carried out before the trek.

The team aims to raise at least £300. Visit www.justgiving.com/walking4richard to donate.
