Memorial game at rugby club

RUGBY: Buckingham Rugby Club is staging the annual Kirk Nokes memorial match on Saturday November 5 at Maids Moreton.

The match remembers teenager Kirk and his friends, James Bowyer, Lee Grimshaw, Edward Manders-Naden, who were killed in a road accident at Westbury with Kirk.

Matthew Simpson, who survived the crash, is a keen supporter of the Kirk Nokes fund and assisted in arranging the memorial match at Bicester in 2009.

Buckingham U11s will play a warm-up match at 1pm against Bicester before the main game takes place, which will comprise Colts, thirds,, vets and other players. The winners will be presented with the Golden Ball Trophy by Margaret Wells.

A barbeque, raffle and auction will be held on the day.
