Milton Keynes Theatre unveils autumn season
With summer sizzling away few people's thoughts are turning to autumn - except those at Milton Keynes Theatre.
The theatre has drawn up its autumn programme which includes a variety of genres including dance, musicals, childrens shows and opera.
Kicking off the season will be all-time favourite musical Annie, which takes place between August 31 and September 4, and tells the tale of an orphan and stars Sue Pollard and David McAlister.
A musical of a different sort, Blues Brothers which runs from September 6 to 11 will have people shaking their tail feathers.
A twist on one of the world's most-loved films is brought to you in The Wiz, which runs from September 14 to 18. Featuring Steph Fearon from BBC's Over the Rainbow this is an opportunity to see an amateur production of the Motown remake of The Wizard of Oz.
Continuing the musical theme West End favourite Hairspray, the show with big hair, a big heart and even bigger hits will be coming to Milton Keynes from September 16 to October 9. It will star Les Dennis and Brian Conley as you have never seen them before.
For the children Roald Dahl's best-loved story, George's Marvellous Medicine, will be presented by the Birmingham Stage Company from October 12 to 16.
New drama in the form of Alan Bennett's funny and thought-provoking new play The Habit of Art, is happening from October 19 to 23, direct from its smash hit run at the National Theatre.
International hit Stomp returns to Milton Keynes from October 26 to 30 with brand new routines while Glyndebourne on Tour also return, from November 9 to 13, with Mozart's masterpiece Don Giovanni, Rossini's comedy La Cenerentola, a re-telling of Perrault's classic fairy tale, Cinderella and Monteverdi's last work, The Coronation of Poppea.
Willy Russell's Blood Brothers will be coming to the theatre between November 22 and 27, having just celebrated 21 years in London.
Monty Python's Spamalot will be peformed between November 29 and December 4 as part of its first ever UK tour, starring Amy Nuttall, and Todd Carty.
