Bicester’s MP has said he looks forward to helping develop Bicester as a garden city after ministers voiced support for a new set of green communities.

Planning minister Nick Boles, of the Department for Communities and Local Government, mentioned negotiations with Cherwell District Council (CDC) at a meeting of the Town and Country Planning Association last week.

Bicester’s MP, Sir Tony Baldry, had put forward the idea last year at an event organised by solicitors Brethertons.

Sir Tony said: “I look forward to playing my part in helping develop Bicester as a vibrant garden city and a town of which we can all be proud to be part of, proud to work in, proud to live in, proud to represent.”
