More than 100 people turned up to an extraordinary meeting of the Aylesbury Vale Transport Users Group (AVTUG) to discuss planned changes to the 32 and 60 bus routes.

The meeting in Buckingham Community Centre on Tuesday morning, bus users expressed concern over the loss of a direct service to Milton Keynes Hospital and also the early morning and evening buses between Tingewick and Buckingham, used by villagers to get to work.

Tingewick resident Rosemary Stuchbury told the Advertiser: “They’re not budging. They have no intention of altering the buses so you have no way of getting to the hospital. You have to go into Milton Keynes and out again.”

Mrs Stuchbury said that would be a very long journey for patients who are elderly and ill.

But county councillor Warren Whyte said the service is only used by two or three people a day on average.
