A children’s classic received the Padbury treatment last week when the village panto made a welcome return.

The Wizard of Padbury, which starred people around the village, featured performances from Caitlin Inman (Dorothy), David McGahey (Lion), Trevor Birch (Scarecrow), and Belinda Morley-Fletcher (Tin Woman).

There was also a star turn from 11-year-old Lewis Picketts who played Elvis, pictured.

Scarey witches (Elspeth Parkhouse, and Morgan, Harriet and Georgina Gunn-Johnson) were overcome by the Good Fairy (Millie Owens) and her Mother (Denise Gibbard), and the Padkins (children from the village) danced and sang their way along the Yellow Brick Road, accompanied by pianist, Miles Nottage.

Thanks went to Fliss Mallam and Angela Nottage and their team who produced sets and provided costumes and props.
