We're delighted to be welcoming nearly 200 delegates from councils across the country to our Gateway offices tomorrow for a conference about transforming public services.

AVDC was voted Council of the Year for 2015 by iESE, thanks to our efforts towards achieving sustainable growth in the face of government funding cuts, and this conference is a chance to share ideas and discuss how best to protect services.
Funded by sponsors, the conference is the perfect platform for us to share expertise gained from recent achievements and introduce our plans for the future such as our new commercial venture, Limecart, our automated website and the ground-breaking Vale Lottery.
Limecart is a new venture from AVDC which will bring its members advice, hints, tips and offers across a range of services for your garden and home. To celebrate the launch we’re offering a free prize draw with a selection of great prizes. To register for the draw, visit www.limecart.co.uk
Our website’s customer portal, Aylesbury Vale My Account, recently hit 10,000 users, just three months after launching. This is fantastic news and shows a real vote of confidence from residents that we’re providing something valued. Through this online account you can manage all your dealings with AVDC 24/7, on any device, with no need for a phone call.
Vale Lottery continues to grow, with more than 90 good causes now benefitting from its proceeds. A number of other councils have expressed interest and we’ll be telling them all about it tomorrow.
The cuts to local government funding are set to continue and whilst our efficiencies and commercial ventures are proving successful, they can’t fully bridge the funding gap.
We still depend on council tax and we recently chose to increase our share by 5.5p a week for the average
household, to further support services.

To be hosting a conference of this kind, sharing our transformation with other councils, demonstrates our determination to safeguard and improve services for our communities.
