Dancers who have been taught at the Brackley Ballet School have achieved one the top marks following the exams with the Royal Academy of Dance.
15-year-old senior students Madeline Kimble, who lives near Bufflers Holt, and Lara Hunt from Syresham both achieved distinctions in the RAD grade seven exams.
Ballet school founder Ann Steedman said Madeline received 81 out of 100 marks, while Lara achieved 79 and they have studied with her since they were toddlers,
She added: “I am so delighted that two of my students scored so highly, and believe me the Academy do not give marks out easily and they never have, it isn’t Royal for nothing.
“I think both girls will land up in some part of the profession although both are very different, but they are keen and they work hard.”
Last week Madeline was recalled for an audition with the English National Ballet Youth Company and Lara is set to begin extra tuition with Tring Arts Educational School.
The Brackley Ballet School was started 40 years ago by Ann Steedman who is preparing to retire after 77 years of dance and a professional career on stage.
