Do you have a vintage car to join a fleet of classic cars in the park?
Vehicles and their drivers will be assembling in Brackley Park on August 31 and if you have a car that is 25 years old or even older, you can still join in.
The event is being organised on behalf of Brackley mayor Elaine Wiltshire and a variety of classic cars is welcome at the venue.
Each driver is asked for a £5 donation towards admin costs. The park can accommodate 100 vehicles and priority will be given to those that register before the event.
Certificates will be awareded to the best in cach class of vehicle and the best vehicle at the event.
Also at the event will be a patrol van from the Automobile Association’s (AA) historic collection. The AA has a collection of more than 30 historic vehicles representing different periods in the AA’s roadside services.
Although some of the AA’s historic vehicles are in museums, many are roadworthy and are maintained by volunteer patrols who exhibit them around the country.
Vehicles at the event need to register between 9am and 10.45am and the event will be open to the public between 11am and 4pm. Donations will go towards the mayor’s charities.
Refreshments will be available and there will be a bouncy castle for the children.
Anyone interested in bringing a vehicle along to the event can complete a pre-registration form which can be downloaded from the Brackley Town Council website at www.brackleynorthants-tc.gov.uk, or by contacting the event organiser, Chris Cartmell, on 01280 703032 or email@example.com.
