Celebrate your town at a special event next Saturday.
Buckingham Civic Day is being held on June 21 and MP John Bercow will be there.
The civic day is organised by the Buckingham Society and is a celebration of the town.
Mr Bercow will unveil a new public-access defibrillator and will present the Buckingham Citizen of the Year and the Young Citizen of the Year with their awards.
The event, which takes place outside the Old Gaol, will begin at 10am with an announcement from the town crier.
There will be a ‘tea party’ on the terrace with local musicians providing entertainment and tea and cakes on sale. Local organisations will be on hand to talk to people about what they do.
Buckingham mayor, Lisa O’Donoghue, will present cheques to charities which are to benefit from Buckingham Rotary’s Swimathon event at the Swan Pool. Thanks to the trustees, there will be free entry for all to the Old Gaol on the day.
