A brewery is opening in Towcester for the first time in more than 100 years.
John Evans, Ray Hunt and David Williams decided to take on the business by moving into the Grade II listed building in Moat Lane.
So tomorrow, Towcester Mill Brewery will open the doors to its tap room, offering three freshly crafted beers.
Mr Williams said: “We have been overwhelmed by the enthusiasm expressed by prospective customers who have been waiting for the day when they can walk through the door and enjoy a pint in the tap room or a guided brewery tour and buy great beer and other Northamptonshire products from our shop.
“The council has been really supportive in helping us turn our dreams into a reality and we look forward to developing the business further to make this a great place to visit.”
Cabinet member for economic development and regeneration at South Northants Council Dermot Bambridge said: “This is not only really good news for the regeneration of this part of Towcester, but for tourism in South Northamptonshire as a whole.
“This new attraction will complement the heritage of the town and will be in an excellent position to capitalise on the increased footfall in the area once the new community building opens next spring.”
The Towcester Mill Brewery’s opening hours will be Monday to Wednesday, 5pm to 9.30pm, Thursday and Friday 5pm to 10pm and 11am to 11pm at weekends.
Shop opening times will be 11am to 5pm every day, except Sunday which will be noon to 5pm.
