About 130 dancers, aged from three to 18, wowed two sell-out audiences with entrancing performances portraying traditional fairytales in a new light at a show by FS Dance students last weekend .
Children from Buckingham, Fringford, Eynsham, Brackley and Bicester had spent a term rehearsing in their separate FS Dance groups.
Genres ranged from modern to tap and street dance at the performances at Cooper School, Bicester.
Fairytale ‘tin soldiers’ were portrayed through a powerful group tap dance with dramatic, shiny costumes.
Other fairytale characters were cast as street dancers with modern costumes.
FS Dance principal Melissa Allen said: “It’s the biggest show we have ever done.
“We focused on performance style, performance techniques and team building.
“The students worked really hard to put on two amazing shows.
“It was fantastic to see them conquering their nerves to perform so well and to see them enjoying themselves and putting on a really varied and entertaining show for the audience. For some, it was their first time in front of such a large audience and they all did really well.”
