Children in Buckingham and North Marston enjoyed fun filled pancake races this week.

In Buckingham, the town council held several pancake race heats at SS Peter and Paul on Saturday, with a special adults heat which saw MP for Buckingham John Bercow race against members of Buckingham Town Council as Reverend Will Pearson-Gee.

The winners were: Under fives – 1 Mia Swain, 2 Isabella Allen; six-11s – 1 Julia Swain, 2 Isabel McCarthy-Archdeacon; adults – 1 Tim Archdeacon, 2 Matthew Swain, 3 Robert Cummins; councillors – 1 Cllr Robin Stuchbury, 2 John Bercow MP, 3 Cllr Andy Mahi.

In North Marston, manager Eddie Parsley, of The Shop, looked on as North Marston School pupils set off on their pancake race on Shrove Tuesday. The race is organised by the shop each year along with an all-day pancake giveaway.

Children from North Marston’s Schorne Pre-School were also invited to take part in the races, followed by a tasting session of fresh pancakes.
