Daffodils were the star of the show at Greens Norton’s annual spring contest last weekend.

The show, now in its 14th year, featured around 160 entries in 33 different classes.

Blooms of daffodils, tulips and hyacinths were displayed alongside contributions from children and a category for other varieties of spring flowers.

The Children’s Trophy, awarded to under 11s, was won by Stefano Whitbread, while the best in show prize went to first-time exhibitor Ron Parsons.

The Gowling Trophy for the daffodil classes, the Doug Warr Trophy for the tulip classes, the Frank Pullin Trophy for hyacinths and the Greens Norton Electrical Cup for the ‘others’ category were all won by Jim Linnell, a long-time and successful exhibitor.
