Ambrosden Parish Council has vowed to fight on against plans to build 45 homes at Ambrosden Court.
Following on from the Planning Inspector’s decision to overturn Cherwell District Council’s refusal of the Merton Road scheme, the council has employed a barrister to look at a number of technical issues on which it may be possible to challenge the appeal decision.
Parish council chairman Mark Longworth said villagers were shocked and dismayed at the decision to reverse CDC’s refusal.
He added: “The inspector found that the council’s lack of a five-year land supply overcame the material harm the scheme would have otherwise have caused.”
The parish council is calling for a smaller ‘more sympathetic’ development on the land and councillors hope CDC will fund a judicial review into the decision.
