Brownies have celebrated the group’s 100th birthday with a special camp for more than 250 girls.
Brackley Brownies joined in the celebrations for the Girlguiding Midlands Cosmic camp at Beaudesert Park in Staffordshire.
The girls, aged seven to 10, got stuck into activities including go-karting, climbing and cooking on an open fire.
Sarah Finnegan, from 2nd Brackley Brownies, said: “Camp is really fun as you get to do fun stuff – it’s been epic.”
Her leader Sue Collinson said: “It was a really exciting adventure for the girls, especially the youngest girls who’d never stayed away from home before.”
Activities at the camp were drawn from the Brownie adventure programme, which builds girls’ confidence and self-esteem, encourages them to become active citizens and learn about the wider world.
