Sausages and cider were celebrated at an annual festival where more than 1,000 sampled the goods and enjoyed live music.

There were more than 40 types of cider and 20 varieties of sausage at the third Towcester Sausage and Cider Festival on Saturday.

Organiser Crispin Slee said: “It was great to be at Towcester Racecourse – it’s a beautiful venue.

“James Gillespie was a highlight. He did a set on the acoustic stage and one on the main stage - he’s a singer-songwriter, a bit like Sam Smith or Ed Sheeran.

“And I’d like to thank Duncan Brown. He does the most amazing sausages, using British meat and locally sourced to make some incredible sausages.”

Mr Slee (pictured left) said he will start planning for next year’s event shortly but will look to improve some of the signage as some people had problems accessing the racecourse.
