Fancy a chance to relive all the fun of the ’70s hit show It’s A Knockout?
Experience the real thing at a family fun day laid on by the University of Buckingham.
The event, on Beloff Lawn, Hunter Street, from 1pm to 6pm, will kick off the university’s Rag Week on August 9.
There will be a 125ft water slide, inflatables and plenty of suds, sludge and fun obstacle courses for participants.
The university needs people to make up teams of five – it could be families, friends or workmates.
The cost is £5 per person to enter and each team has a chance to take part in all six of the fun It’s A Knockout-style games.
There will be a first, second and third prize.
For children there will be a bouncy castle, face painting, a sweet stall and candy floss. There will also be a barbecue, ice creams, raffle, tombola and crockery smashing stall as well as stalls and music organised by students from the university.
Head of student union office, catering and hospitality Craig Decent said: “This will be a fantastic day out and we’d love as many people as possible from the community to join in the fun.
“For those who don’t want to take part, watching students, staff and local people competing will be hugely entertaining.
“We won’t let rain stop play – it should be a great event whatever the weather.”
The event, being run with The Helping Hands Society, a student-run charity, will raise money for the University of Buckingham Supporting Overseas Schooling (UBSOS) charity, the Teenage Cancer Trust and Padbury-based Brain Tumour Research.
