Hard-hitting child sexual exploitation campaign launched

A hard-hitting play has officially launched a campaign to raise awareness of child sexual exploitation in Buckinghamshire.

Chelsea’s Choice, based on the real-life experiences of sexually exploited children aired at The Oculus in Gatehouse Road this morning.

The R U Wise to It? campaign is being launched by agencies across the county involved in safeguarding young people.

Child sexual exploitation is a form of abuse in which a young person is manipulated or forced into taking part in a sexual act often in return for attention, affection, gifts, money, drugs, alcohol or accommodation.

The ‘R U Wise to It?’ campaign seeks to help people spot its signs and also gives advice on where to find help or report concerns.
