If your New Year’s resolution is to get out and do something different with your free time, Stowe House is recruiting new volunteers.
There is going to be a huge amount going on at Stowe House this year, with extensive restoration projects planned for the spring anda Heritage Lottery-funded visitor Centre due to be built in the summer.
In anticipation of a busy Easter and summer season, Stowe House hopes to welcome a large number of new volunteers early this year.
Visitor services manager Ruth Peters said: “Just as in its heyday, it takes an army of volunteers to keep Stowe running smoothly, which is why we are inviting you to join the team. We have an exciting year planned with plenty to get involved with from welcoming our visitors in our visitor centre, introducing them to some of the history of the house, leading guided tours and much more.
“We have a lovely social side to volunteering, with regular chances to meet up with the whole team.
“By volunteering in 2014, you will see the house evolve and be involved in the process.
“Whether you are looking to gain some experience in a heritage environment or just want to meet some new people, whether you have just an afternoon spare once a week or are looking to spend more time, there is something for everyone.”
