A crowd of 4,000 people enjoyed an afternoon of activities as the Love Bicester week drew to a close.

The Family Fun Day in Garth Park included wall climbing and a Skate Jam which gave children the chance to ride up and down the ramps.

Activities across the seven days have been staged with the help of hundreds of volunteers from 11 churches.

Stephen Rand, who helped organise the fun day on Saturday, was pleased to see so many at the park.

He said: “We were thrilled about how it went. We think there were over 4,000 and everyone seemed to have a good time.

“It’s safe to say it’s the best one we’ve done.”

On Sunday morning, 300 people gathered for a celebration service in the open air.

Steve Barber, one of the ministers of the churches said: “The whole week was about blessing the people of Bicester and it was great to see so many, young and old, crowding into Garth Park and enjoying themselves so much.”
