A motorcyclist was airlifted to hospital with several limb injuries following an accident on Friday.
The 27-year-old rider was injured when he collided with a car at Potterspury at around 6.15pm. Warks and Northants Air Ambulance arrived at the scene at around 6.30pm and gave the patient pain relief before applying splints to his injuries.
He was airlifted to University Hospitals Coventry and Warks for further treatment.
In 2013 the air ambulance attended at least one incident involing a motorcycle each week. For the second year running, the Air Ambulance Service will be supported by the Brackley Festival of Motorcycling. As part of the event, the service is organising a Rescue Ride In. Last year hundreds of motorcyclists joined together to ride en masse to the festival from London and Wellingborough. To sign up for this year’s event and to help raise funds for the air ambulance log on to their website www.theairambulanceservice.org.uk/RideIn
The event takes place on August 17.
