MP for Buckingham and Commons Speaker John Bercow will chair the event at a yet-to-be announced constituency location.

Mr Bercow has said the debate on June 2 will be non-party political, and will focus on how an in-or-out vote would affect local people.

The event is for the benefit of his Buckingham constituency residents and will be an opportunity to get a handle on the issue before you vote.

And Mr Clegg, who was leader of the Liberal Democrats between 2007 and 2015, is the first panellist to be announced.

Mr Bercow said: “I am delighted that Nick has accepted my invitation to speak in the debate in June. He is widely recognised as one of the most articulate, passionate pro-European voices in Parliament.

“To have him speak in Buckingham on this issue is a real boon”

Mr Bercow added: “It is very important that Buckingham constituency residents are able to make a well-informed decision on June 23.

“This debate is an opportunity to hear both sides of the argument.” The deadline for applying for up to two tickets is Friday, May, 13.
