The longstanding chairman of Winslow Ramblers, Di Kemp, has stood down after 35 years.
Mrs Kemp is pictured at the start of last Saturday’s walk with fellow ramblers Peter Alsford, Susan Cobbold, Brenda Webb, Jacqui Vincett, Pam Smith and Rhonie Monk.
Mrs Kemp was one of the founder members of the group 42 years ago. During her time as chairman, she has planned and led hundreds of rambles and organised many of the club’s annual coach outings.
At the club’s annual meeting last Friday, Mrs Kemp was presented with complimentary lifetime membership and a collection of historical maps and journals. A retirement cake in the shape of a sofa, made by club member Jo Williams, bore the message: “Well done Di, put your feet up.”
