Funding for the comprehensive restoration of Brackley Town Hall moved a step closer this week.
Brackley Town Council’s bid for £2.3 million of Heritage Lottery funding passed through the first round, meaning it meets HLF criteria for funding. The council has also been granted £100,000 to prepare its bid for full funding.
Mayor of Brackley Councillor Peter Rawlinson said: “The fact that our bid has been successful in a highly competitive national process is a testament to the value placed on our iconic-Wren inspired building.”
Brackley Town Hall, a Grade II-listed building in High Street, was built in the 1700s by Scroop Egerton, the 4th Earl of Bridgewater, Lord of the Manor of Brackley.
