Villagers’ beer festival and open mic night

Villagers in Wappenham are organising a beer and open mic festival on Saturday, June 21, in the village hall, in aid of Cynthia Spencer Hospice in Northampton and Katharine House Hospice in Banbury.

It opens for tasting at noon and runs until late. South Northants MP Andrea Leadsom will officially open the event at 3pm, with music from local group the Backroom Blues Band.

At 6pm there will be a barbecue and open mic.

Later in the evening, there will be a raffle, with prizes including a signed Manchester United football, a test flight in a glider and meals for two at The New Inn at Abthorpe and The Wharf at Bugbrooke,.

There will be beers on sale from Hook Norton Brewery, Towcester Brewing Company, Great Oakley Brewery, of Tiffield, Gun Dog Ales, of Woodford Halse, Oakham Ales, Vale Brewery, of Brill, and cider from the Eydon Cider Company and Vale of , of Daventry.

Entry is free but tickets are being pre-sold for £5, which includes two pints and a burger.
