The Walking Warriors team for Cancer Research UK’s Relay For Life raised £448 at a mini-fete on Saturday.
This makes the total raised by the team so far £1,350.
The Walking Warriors team is made up of children and adults of all ages mainly from Winslow, including four cancer survivors.
Their next fundraising event is a jumble sale from noon to 2pm on May 14 in Winslow’s St Laurence Room.
This will be followed by a Race Night on the 7June 7 at Aylesbury College.
Team member Kirsty Reader said: “Fundraising for cancer is very close to my heart as my mum was diagnosed with breast cancer four years ago and is in remission.
“Everyone on the team has been affected in some way so we are all very enthusiastic about fundraising and are looking forward to the actual Relay For Life event at Aylesbury Rugby Club on the July 5 and 6, when 30 teams will walk in relay for 24 hours.
“There will be live bands, entertainment for children and adults all over the weekend, stalls from each team, discos, competitions and lots more.”
