A 21-year-old woman has died after a crash on the A508 near Stoke Bruerne.

She was a passenger in a silver Ford Puma, travelling south, when it was in collision with grey Ford Fusion, travelling in the opposite direction, on a bend just south of Stoke Bruerne.

The driver of the Puma, a 22-year-old woman from Brackley, was lifted by air ambulance to University Hospital Coventry with injuries not thought to be life threatening. Her passenger died at the scene.

The Fusion was driven by a 33-year-old woman from Derby.

Police are appealing for witnesses to the incident which happened at 7.40pm on Monday evening.

Officers would particularly like to speak to a woman, believed to be an off-duty nurse, who helped at the scene following the collision.
