Nineteen classic and vintage cars entered the sixth Bill Barton Memorial Rally on Sunday, June 30th.
Motorists set off from the Shoulder Of Mutton in Little Horwood, in their quest to carry off the Bill Barton Memorial Trophy, in the shape of a spark plug.
Their journey took them through the Chiltern hills to Hawridge Common, Tring, where they lunched at the Rose & Crown pub, which accommodated all the vehicles in its car park.
First prize went to Nick and Tina Derry in a Morris Minor.
Jane and Mike Alexander took second prize in a Hillman Imp, and Roger Yates and Penny Davis came third in a Sunbeam Alpine.
The annual car rally is organised by Little Horwood resident Peter Pearce in memory of Bill Barton, and his vintage car.
The 1931 AJS was entered in this year’s rally by Mr Barton’s widow Barbara, his daughter Caroline and her partner.
