Musician James Brown is the subject of Friday’s screening at Buckingham’s independent cinema, The Film Place, at 7.30pm.

Starring Chadwick Bosen, Get On Up is a biopic of the singer, born in poverty, who survived abandomment, abuse and jail to become one of the most influential musicians of the 20th century.

On Saturday, you can take the family to an early showing of Paddington, at 6pm.

After a deadly earthquake destroys his home in the Peruvian rainforest, a young bear travels to England to find a new home with Henry and Mary Brown.

The film is billed as “delightfullyfunny in a very British way.”

Next weekend, there’s a chance to see Eddie Redmayne’s Oscar-winning performance in biographical drama The Theory Of Everything, about physicist Stephen Hawking, on Friday and Saturday, April 17 and 18.
