The council plans to turn Aylesbury into an entertainment and arts hub and wants to see more Friars gigs at the Waterside Theatre.

Discussions have taken place to not only present shows at the Waterside but also to present smaller events in the theatre’s 200 capacity Second Space.

The first gig in the Second Space has been confirmed for Friday, September 26, when Friars legends Stackridge will be appearing.

Stackridge played Friars seven times in the mid 70s, at the Borough Assembly Hall and Civic Centre.

They disbanded late in 1975, with James Warren and Andrew Creswell Davis going on to form The Korgis who had international hits.

In 2009 Stackridge re-formed.

Tickets on sale this Saturday, August 16 at 10am from the Box Office, 0844 871 7607 (booking fee) or online at www.atgtickets.com/aylesbury.
