Popular bands from north Bucks are teaming up on Sunday, August 25 to support a cricket club at the heart of its community.

The Thornborough Cricket Club Legends Summer Dance will feature The Red Bullets, the Dave Cattermole band, and a new vocal group called the Sound Collective.

The dance will take place under marquee on the cricket field and will also include a pig roast and a bar hosted by village pub The Two Brewers.

31-year-old Red Bullets frontman Pete Edwards has been a member of the club for 17 years and said soggy weather over the last few summers had hit club finances. He added: “It’s not just a sports club, it also brings people together, especially in the summer the cricket field is a nice place to be with the sun out, even for people who don’t play or understand the game. A cricket club is at the heart of any good English community.”

Tickets cost £10 and can be bought online at www.theredbullets.com/gigs, over the counter at The Two Brewers, or by calling 01280 812020.
