Mystery of the missing bus – just a question of numbers?

MARKET-GOERS from Bourtonville, Linden Village and Page Hill found themselves waiting for the bus that never came on Tuesday morning.

Tuesday was supposed to be the first day of the revised bus timetables, following a public consultation and meeting in June.

Copies of the draft timetable were handed out at the meeting.

But passengers for the scheduled bus just after 9am waited in vain.

And when people picked up a copy of the new timetable from the Old Gaol Tourist Information Centre, it appeared that service was no longer included.

A Transport for Bucks spokesman said the confusion may be because the early bus service is a 151 rather than a 132.

She said: “We are producing a summary booklet that splits the various sections of the Buckingham timetables geographically, which should make these easier to follow. The roadside bus stop displays show all journeys and we supplied the Tourist Information Centre with copies of all of them but clearly there is still some confusion.”

Copies of the summary timetables are now available from the Old Gaol and online at www.transportforbucks.net
