Have your say

They were certainly right when they said it would be a busy year, if the days since mayor making two weeks ago are anything to go by!

Places I need to be right now; events to be thinking about in the near future, and starting the forward planning already for ideas that will come to fruition later in the year.

I have chosen Northampton and District Mind as my principle Charity, specifically aimed at establishing a centre for Mind in Brackley.

We are holding a coffee morning at Brackley Town Hall on Friday, June 10, so that Mind can bring more information to everyone about their work for better mental health.

With the help of Andrez Mialkowski who runs the Dancing School in Brackley we are hoping to hold a Strictly Come Brackley gala event the first week-end in September, a chance for addicts of the TV show to put on their own dancing shoes.

September 18th has been set for the Civic Service at midday in St. Peter’s Church with a full peal of bells setting the tone for what is to follow.

But next Wednesday, June 1, I will be with those on the Piazza waving off the standard bearers of Brackley and county who are taking part in the 90 mile walk for the 90th birthday of the Royal British Legion.

I’m sure we will all be wishing them luck as we wave them Goodbye!

Councillor Theodora Hayward, Mayor of Brackley.
