A new NHS dentist could be opening its doors in Brackley later this year.
Berkshire-based Dentalcare Ltd has submitted plans to South Northants Council to convert 2 Bridge Street into a dental surgery.
The building has been empty since 2009 and before that was owned by South Northants Council.
The application includes turning the ground and part of the first floor into three treatment rooms, a reception and waiting area, a sterilisation room and toilets. The rest of the first floor and the second floor will be converted into flats.
A design and access statement for the application says: “NHS Northamptonshire has undertaken an oral health needs assessment and Brackley was identified as an area in need of increased NHS dentistry provision.
“Dentalcare Limited is an established dental care provider; their practices operate under the NHS. Dentalcare Ltd are working with NHS Northamptonshire to ensure equitable access for all to high quality NHS dentistry.”
A decision on the applications will be made by South Northants Council’s planning committee on a date to be decided.
