The doors of Northamptonshire’s very own school of rock are set to open to the public this weekend as it looks to recruit new talent.
Towcester Rockschool is hosting its annual family open day on Saturday (September 12) at which people aged between six and 18 can register for the coming year.
Founded in 1990 by David Taylor, the organisation aims to teach its students the necessary skills needed in order to form a band.
The open day, called a ‘Picnic in the Park’ will feature live bands from the Rockschool playing acoustic sets.
Refreshments will be supplied though visitors are encouraged to bring a picnic with them.
The Rockschool runs at Nichols Hawksmoor School, from 12.30pm to 5.30pm on Saturdays.
They will have the chance to be taught by professional tutors, to form a band and to play gigs and concerts.
The school also offers training in lighting and sound management as well as music promotion and marketing skills.
The Rockschool also offers a Wednesday class from 6.30pm to 9pm for anyone aged between 18 and 80.
