Representatives of 10 Bicester-area charities met London Olympian Andrew Baggaley at a special event in Bicester Village this week.

The breakfast event at Carluccio’s let charities meet potential volunteers from among Bicester Village staff who offer skills ranging from web design and marketing to cooking and poetry reading.

Table tennis star Andrew Baggaley – England’s top Commonwealth Games medal winner – demonstrated his skills and spoke to volunteers.

Among the activities in the volunteering programme will be ‘Get Batty’ table tennis sessions for isolated people.

Helen Le Broq, of the Bicester-based youth arts charity the OYAP Trust, said: “Thanks to the Bicester Village volunteering scheme we have already received offers of help from people with a huge range of skills and expertise.”
