HERITAGE: One of Towcester’s hidden historical gems will throw its doors open to the public as part of the Heritage Open Scheme next weekend.

The Church of St Mary at Hulcote is tucked away on the Easton Neston Estate and dates back to the 13th century. It is filled with fascinating secrets, including oak boxed pews, stained glass, heraldic tablets, and monuments.

The open day coincides with the ‘Ride and Stride’ sponsored bike ride and walk to help raise funds to preserve church buildings and their unique landscape.

The open day takes place on Saturday, September 8, between 10am, and 6pm. The normal Saturday service will be moved to 6pm to account for the open day.
