Open garden weekend in Flora’s village
ONCE home to Lark Rise to Candleford author Flora Thompson, the village of Fringford near Bicester will hold an open gardens weekend on Saturday and Sunday, May 19 and 20.
At least 10 gardens will offer a huge range of styles and sizes ranging from a small walled garden, raised vegetable beds in a front garden, to a large rectory garden and a herb farm.
St Michael & All Angels church will feature floral displays, and local historian Martin Greenwood will be on hand to answer any question about the history of the church and the village.
The event runs from 1pm to 6pm both days. Plants and garden bric-a-brac stalls and teas will be on sale, and parking and tickets are available at the village green.
