Opera stars to shine in Bicester

BICESTER will be treated to a dazzling concert of classical songs featuring two stars of the Royal Opera House on Saturday, March 3.

Internationally-known singers Justin Lavender and Mary Plazas will perform an evening of classical songs and opera arias for Bicester Choral and Operatic Society.

Mr Lavender, a concert tenor and a professor of vocal studies at the Royal College of Music in London, has travelled all over world with national opera groups, and has performed at many prestigious festivals.

Ms Plazas, a long-term president of Bicester Choral and Operatic Society, has sung lead soprano for the ENO and has won many accolades over a professional career spanning 20 years.

The concert starts at 7.30pm in the John Paul II Centre in The Causeway. Tickets are £15, and are available from SH Jones Wine Merchant in Sheep Street, Bicester, from the box office on 01869 247102, or online at www.bcoswesing.org.uk. Any remaining tickets will be on sale on the door.
