Supporters of Bicester Food Bank have helped the organisation give a gift of love to 80 youngsters this Christmas.
Congregations at St Edburg’s Church, Bicester, and Bicester Methodist Church have donated toys, books and selection boxes to ensure the children will not go without this Christmas. The toy parcels are an added service the food bank provides each December. Founder and project manager Janet Ray, pictured right with volunteer Ann Beveridge, estimated the food bank would have fed 2,500 people by April. She said: “For some it is a real lifeline.”
The food bank is operating from new premises in Minton Place, Victoria Road, and a £3,000 donation from Lloyds helped buy new cabinets for the premises.
