A DECISION to introduce new charges in Bicester’s council-run car parks is set to be reviewed by members of Cherwell District Council.
A decision made last week by members of the council’s executive has been called in for review at a meeting on December 21.
Proposals included the introduction of parking charges for blue badge holders, a 10p increase in the hourly charge and new evening charges between 6pm and midnight.
Councillor Nigel Morris said: “The proposals for car parking have been hotly debated and are sensitive, particularly at this difficult time.
“So it is right that the full process available to the council to consider the proposals is used prior to a final decision being made.”
The council estimates the proposed changes would generate around £350,000 each year.
