A Parkinson’s disease sufferer has completed the London to Brighton bike ride, raising £2,380 for Parkinson’s UK.

Malcolm Stairs, aged 63, from Steeple Claydon, did the 57-mile cycle ride on September 7. in just over five hours.

Mr Stairs was diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease nearly nine years ago.

Last Saturday, he handed over a cheque to Parkinson’s UK regional fundraiser Emily Scotcher at The Fountain pub in Steeple Claydon.

Miss Scotcher said: “This is such an incredible amount of money and my heartfelt thanks go to Malcolm and all his supporters. Malcolm is a true inspiration.”
