A teenager has been injured by an air pellet after he was shot on a farm as he went for a stroll.

The air pellet struck the teenager on the shoulder as he walked along a public footpath close to Camp Farm in Charlton.

He was caught by surprise and went to A&E when he realised what had happened to receive treatment.

It happened around 3pm on Monday and police are hunting the shooter who is believed to have used an air rifle or air pistol.

Officers are asking anyone who was in the area on Monday afternoon and who may have seen someone using a gun to contact them.

Witnesses are asked to call Northamptonshire Police on 101.
